Episode 29: Talk About Embodiment with Sarah Martin

Episode 29: Talk About Embodiment with Sarah Martin

A quick note: Sarah and I recorded this episode about embodiment months ago. At the time of posting, we’re middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the world is self-isolating, and we’re all feeling anxious and uncertain. I wanted to share this episode with you now because I think so many of us need to hear what Sarah has to say right now.

Sarah Martin is a longtime friend and an embodiment coach. In this episode, she shares some much-needed insight on how our bodies are more than just a brain taxi–they are the archives of our lived experiences. We talk about how using embodiment practices can help us feel more centered and, above all, live a grounded life. We’re all feeling the effects of COVID-19. As a result, many of us are looking for something to help center our bodies and minds during this uncertain time. I’m sure that Sarah’s words and wisdom will help.

Sarah Martin is a coach, facilitator, and owner of Home|Body Creative. When she isn’t focused on helping people come home to themselves, she can be found creating uniquely-blended experiences for embodied learning, cultivating creativity through design, writing, and storytelling, and staying connected to her beginner-self by trying new things.

In short, her personal mission is to create a world where we’re all comfortable being works in progress, embracing the joy and discomfort of living life out loud, in real-time. Sarah is a certified Associated Embodied Yoga Principles teacher and is completing the ontological coaching program through The Newfield Network.

Sarah can be found most days with her hands in the dirt by the shade of an oak tree, dancing spontaneously anywhere there’s music, and cooking for family and friends. She lives with her husband and two feline fur-babies in Austin, TX.

Key Takeaways:

  • How We Met
  • The Definition of Embodiment
  • Trauma is Big and Heavy
  • Embodied Yoga Principles
  • Where is this all leading?
