Hey there my friends,
Lets see if any of you can recognize this quote:
“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
I mean I’d say that’s pretty accurate, right? When you find your partner, the person who you believe is the one, you’re pretty much just ready to start the rest of your lives together. Which brings us to the oh so interesting topic of elopement.
Oh, any guesses on that quote yet? If not, I’ll tell you in just a sec… But first I am SO excited to bring you an incredible guest today here to tell us all about an equally incredible cause.
Today on TWRD we have Liz Norment- Liz is an experienced wedding officiant and owner of Have Lover, Will Travel, A wedding officiant and honeymoon travel planning company that began from Liz’s passion for storytelling and love of adventure.
Liz plans to host a day of pop-up Elopements on April 30th in iconic Central Park to benefit Vow for Girls. Elopements for Couples Who Care will be a day of pop-up elopements in Central Park to benefit Vow for Girls, a global movement dedicated to ending the child marriage crisis, advocating and providing funding for education and development of young women and children against forced marriages, giving them a chance at a future where they have a choice. This is an incredibly important cause that I am so honored to bring your attention to.
On top of this event, Liz is also helping to plan the “Rooted In Love Gala”. An evening to share joy following a day of charitable pop-up elopements. This event will feature an activation station for guests to connect with their 13-year old selves and develop a deeper appreciation of the freedom of choice, and offering the opportunity for donations to be made for “Take the Vow” to end child marriage.
So join us in support of this beautiful cause, give this episode a listen to get the down low on the cause and how YOU can donate and attend these amazing events, and feel free to spread the word while you’re at it! Let’s talk all about it.
(P.s. The answer was When Harry Met Sally 😉)
More About Liz Norment
Liz Norment is a wedding officiant, honeymoon planner, and the owner of Have Lover, Will Travel.
A successful 7-year career in the fashion industry led Liz to a position with a wedding dress designer, developing marketing strategies to capture the attention of brides, loving the passionate language and creative approach, but also feeling that her talent was caged. After all, there are only so many ways to describe lace. During a meeting, she scribbled the words “Have Lover, Will Travel” and the beginnings of a business plan that would be the culmination of her talents and passion.
Since then, her business has truly felt like an extension of her soul. Having been a writer since she was old enough to pick up a pencil, using her words to move people through her ceremonies has been an incredible honor and creative challenge. Her ceremonies are cinematic, carrying guests on an emotive journey through the lens of a couple’s love story.
As a firm believer that travel is what ignites the soul, creating experiences all over the world that allow couples to add chapters to their love story allows Liz to extend her connection beyond the aisle. The honeymoons she plans for clients start with an in-depth understanding of who they are as travelers and become an intricate balance of discovery and relaxation that is reflective of their love.
