Episode 38: Talk About Community in Quarantine with Cyndie Spiegel
Community is so important, now, in quarantine, more than ever. In this episode, I chat with Cyndie Spiegel, creator and community organizer of Dear Grown Ass Women. Cyndie talks about the power of conversation and how opportunities to connect are still there during this time of quarantine.
So if you’re looking to step outside your comfort zone and start igniting conversations you thought you’d never have with people you would have never thought to meet, listen in. Grab a latte, grab a margarita, and let’s talk it out.
Meet Cyndie Spiegel
Cyndie Spiegel is an in-demand keynote speaker and a true force of nature who rallies audiences to lead more boldly and refine their mindsets for good.
She is a commanding keynote speaker and an igniter of powerful conversation as an aspirational voice within women’s leadership and culture [who sometimes drops the F-bomb casually and also uses words like “manifesting” and “belonging”].
She is also the founder of several communities for women including Dear Grown Ass WomenTM, a community& platform elevating women over 35.
Prior to building a successful consulting & speaking practice, she spent fifteen years in the New York fashion industry, working in senior roles for brands like Coach and Narciso Rodriguez.
In addition to holding a Masters Degree in Global Business, Cyndie is also a TEDx speaker, a former adjunct professor at Parsons, the New School for Design and Fashion Institute of Technology, as well as being NY certified in Applied Positive Psychology and a 500-hour trained yoga and meditation teacher. In addition, she is also a scholar of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
Her honesty, transparency, and no-bullshit perspective on creating diverse spaces for women, overcoming imposter syndrome, embracing fear and asking more, inspires audiences globally to think and lead differently.
She is a sought-after facilitator and transformational speaker for creative conferences, brands, and organizations and has been featured in Entrepreneur, Forbes, Glamour Magazine, Teen Vogue, and The Huffington Post.

This Week’s Sponsor: Better Health
If you’re reading this in real-time, we are in the midst of a stay-at-home order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ll be real honest here. Somedays I’m dealing with the isolation and this strange new normal pretty well. Other days? I’m very anxious and panicked about when this will all be over. If you’re familiar with me, you know I’ve never hidden the fact that I see a therapist. I believe taking care of our mental health should be as normal as taking care of our physical health.
Because I travel so much I see an online therapist at Better Help. Better Help is the world’s largest e-counseling platform. They make professional counseling accessible, affordable, and convenient so you can get help anytime anywhere. You can video chat with your therapist or do your session by phone. You can even text them through the Better Help portal (I’ve done that a lot).
Listen. If you’re struggling, you aren’t alone, even if right now you’re physically alone. Get a free week of counseling if you go to reneedalo.com/betterhelp. In short, you deserve to be happy. Now more than ever.
Thanks for Listening!
