About Mandee Johnson
Mandee Johnson is a commercial, editorial, and wedding photographer based in Los Angeles, CA. She published her first book in the summer of 2020 with Andrews McMeel, Super Serious: An Oral History of Los Angeles Independent Stand-Up Comedy, with 4×5 portraits from a decade of The Super Serious Show.
Mandee’s diverse portfolio and extensive knowledge in design, art direction, and production bring a broad artistic perspective to her practice. Her unique style mixes fine art, documentary, and editorial with pop color and personality – creating energetic and intimate images. My work celebrates strong storytelling with a singular point of view, allowing me to capture the raw energy of my subjects with all their spontaneity, vulnerability, joy, and sincerity.
In addition to Mandee’s photo work, she’s the co-founder and an executive producer at CleftClips and Okay Fine, both comedy-oriented production companies. Recent work includes Haunt the Johnsons, Arsenio!, Introducing…, and our ongoing live show Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen.
