Wedding Planners, let’s chat. For the last two years, I have made it my mission to eradicate the terms Day-of Coordination & Month-of Coordination from the wedding industry. Why? Simply put, that terminology undermines our value and doesn’t allow us to charge what we are worth.
Does this look familiar?
There is no such thing as Day-Of Coordination. It’s a lie. It’s a unicorn. It does not exist. No Wedding Planner worth their paycheck can simply show up on the wedding day and execute flawlessly without putting in CONSIDERABLE time pre-wedding day. We all know it’s true, yet we continue to call it by this ridiculous name, “Day-of”. And “Month-of” is no better.
Are you charging less than $1000 for DOC/MOC services? Do you want to be charging more, working more efficiently and serving your clients as the expert you know you are?
My mission is to educate not only my fellow Wedding Planners but the entire industry to move to a new terminology for this service offering: Wedding Management
Not Wedding DAY Management. Just Wedding Management. Take any mention of time (day, month) right out of there. It confuses your clients and doesn’t help you sell confidently and clearly.
I’ve been watching the industry tide slowly (oh so slowly) move in this direction, but if I’m being honest, it’s not enough for me. I look at my fellow Wedding Planners nationwide, and I see you. I see you working hard for low pay, breaking your back to service clients that don’t really understand your worth. I see you picking up the slack for sub-par vendors, venting in the Facebook groups, and worrying about your local competition undercutting you.
There is a better way. And I’m going to teach it to you.
My Wedding Management 101 course will walk you through every single step I took to rename my service offering, revamp my sales process, service my clients like a Boss, and increase my profits by 200%.
Yup. You read that correctly. When I started my business, I offered DOC for $900. Today, I offer Wedding Management for an average price of $3500. And that’s my lowest service package.
It’s not salesy, a scam, or a false promise. It’s about honestly and comprehensively servicing your clients in a way that benefits everyone – them, you, and your bank account. I’m talking soup to nuts: Checklists, email templates, workflows, everything.
Wedding Management 101 launches November 7th, so get on the list now to be notified when we go live! (And if you’re at Wedding MBA, I’ll announce a special discount from the stage – so be there in person in Vegas!)
Love this post! We planners definitely need to educate people out there that there is no such thing as Day-of or Month of Coordinator. I still hear it being referred to as that, and I try my best to educate everyone to call it what it is, “Wedding Management,” and it starts months before the wedding day!
Yes, preach it!!
